things around the church

So...I have been suspiciously absent the past few weeks (sad, I know), I was helping old ladies cross the street. What can ya do? But, even if it isn't much of an excuse, I don't know much that is going on...I DO know the Corinne got a full-ride scholarship to college (yay Corinne! We love you and hope you had a good time visiting the east coast) and that Nichol's 30th birthday was this past Monday! Happy birthday, lovely Nichol. And that just happened to be the day of Virginia Tech Massacre (which I totally urge you to keep in your prayers!). So now I've run out of things to say...(I am a very boring person, I know, but this is what you get with me being totally put on the spot). I hope you're having an AMAZING spring (even with all the gorgeous rain) and enjoy all the daffadils around (even though you're allergic to all the lillies Kyle!).

So.
I love you all.

the monopolies of life...

So today was a meeting for all of the mission trips this summer. This means that WE ARE ON OUR WAY!! There is so much to do to get there as a group. Our next big fundraiser is the Pancake Breakfast on Easter Sunday. It should be good food and good fun.

Individually we are all working on our stock, balancing schoolwork, balancing work schedules, and leaving enough time to hang out with the wonderful people that make up the Advent Youth. In a couple weeks we are having the blast from the 80’s night (and in my opinion these days you don’t have to go far to get that blast, though fun nonetheless). It is a chance for us to go beyond our youth group and meet people from other youth (in this case Salem Lutheran) and just have fun.

Personally the closer we get to this trip the more excited I get about the whole experience. I am ready to delve into new experience, something that would “blow my socks off” as Nichol would say. It is an exciting time in life, being a highschooler, though it can also be deemed scary. It is the point at which we all transition from being a child and depending on our parents for so many things, to really understanding the world and being able to relate within it as adults. These trips that we take are going to be so awesome. I know that I will come back a different person and in this hopefully become closer to God.

We should kick this baby in high gear. Make it a great day!!!

Numbero 2

Well, Chris, I guess you got the privilege, but first is the WORST. Second is the best. : )
The Advent youth has been busy the past couple weeks. Many birthdays (like Chris'), but also Brandon! We have been skating--coolio ice skating! And Spirit 103 was there too. God was surrounding us!
We just counted, and Nichol has been a blessing to us for nearly 4 months. It seems like forever (she has fit into the congregation and especially the youth so well) and like she just got here yesterday.
Summer trips are still coming up, but we seem to be in low gear at the moment. Let's kick up a notch, everybody! Get stoked and sell stock! Stoke stock stoke stock stoke stock. I will be chanting that until we get on the plane. (But I need to stop being a hypocrite.)
God bless to you all, but I am gettin' kicked off! Ouch, Nichol!

So, yesterday was my birthday and I’m extremely excited. I can now go to jail. I’m happy because my friends’ made me a cake. It reminds me of all the four tier cakes that I have made for friends. I also enjoyed spending time ice skating with my youth groupers.Spanish=Dumb. Who makes valentines for assigned students in the class. I’m a Senior and we are playing 1st grade. Lame. Math=Awesome. I think I aced a test. That will be a first this year because while my teacher is very kind, she grades quite hard. One thing that has been on my mind lately is my responsibilities. I have been working on my Eagle project a lot and, and my college applications are still hanging over my head. I have BOSCMUN (Bothell High School’s Security Council Model United Nations) this week and it isn’t stressful, but I’m feeling a little anxiety if I’m saying the right things. I’m being graded by a teacher that doesn’t even know me. Although, that could be a good thing because my teacher grades down for no reason. It is impossible to get an A in Senior Issues because my teacher will say, “Wow that was the best presentation that I’ve seen all week……93%”. RICIDULOUS. I’m feeling first-rate about it because I am capable of grasping the knowledge needed.I wrote two really good questions for model UN today that were taken from me. I told my partner that she could use one if she wanted and if she needed a second, then she could use the second too. I think she spent five minutes on writing a speech. Opening sentence, my 2 questions, closing sentence. Nice work… Whatever, I guess that just says I’m the stronger student.Still a good day. I hope tomorrow goes as well as today. Alls well, that ends well.
